  • Well I drink a ton of champagne on Christmas with my entire family. Late in the evening this bottle was still on ice. My kids opened it and almost finished it before I had a sip. I grabbed Camille‘s class, took a sip and was wowed. Certainly no detail; but it was very bright, and inviting… That’s all I got! I’m glad I have two more because I can’t wait to try a bottle it’s been a little time with it!

  • A pale yellow with golden reflections in the glass, the first impressions on the nose are chalk, honeysuckle, and citrus peel, followed by vanilla, quince, butterscotch, and orange. The mouthfeel is creamy, generous, and round, balanced by a refreshing acidity with plenty of finesse. This Champagne is still very young and will develop with some cellar ripeness. A beautiful Blanc de Blancs. For the moment, it certainly belongs in a large glass so that he gets enough air to breathe.

  • Day1: Markedly fresh and brightly fruited on the nose with green apple, spearmint, iodine and a bit of yeast and smoke. Surprisingly primary and understated, somewhat reductive. A nice tight, persistent mousse. The palate is definitely on the dry side at 2 g/l residual sugar with little to no fat and quite a firm mouthfeel. There is textural richness to it however but it is not without some angles. Similar to the nose the palate is more than anything young and undeveloped. There is only a little toastiness and the fruit is on the tight, zesty side. The tangy finish is admirably long. There is plenty of promise here, the wine has great proportions and quite some energy. 10 years in the cellar will definitely do good for it, now it’s showing only glimpse of its potential. Definitely not very voluptuous despite the name!

Day2: Has definitely relaxed and opened up a bit with a nice note of torrefaction on the nose. Comes off more creamy on the palate; still chiselled for sure but less angular. Seems quite Bereche-esque with its very dry, structured and intense yet still balanced style, which of course is not an insignificant praise. The finish has filled up very nicely and remains very persistent and lip-smacking. Especially with the temperature going up this is starting to be pretty damn delicious. Overall a great overnight development which while not a 100% guaranteed indication of ageing potential still gives me some confidence that this has great upside.

  • Lemony and iodized nose.

Supple palate, very nice freshness, excellent balance, the juice stretches delicately, it is surprisingly rich and charming for an extra-brut blanc de blancs with omnipresent citrus fruits and a good finish on wet stone. The right dosage provides this additional comfort. Very well.
