Not decanted - it does not need that. Just some time in the open bottle and a slightly elevated serving temperature to reveal all its nuances. In many cases, Marsanne / Roussanne blends from the Rhône are above all textural wines, and this one is no different. This does not mean however that the aromatic / flavour profile would not be interesting - on the contrary. It is discreet, but there is a lot going on. Minerals of course, flowers and gun smoke, apple and orange, honeysuckle, and dried apricot. Does not lack elegance in spite of the low acidity, noticable bitters and considerable alcohol (14% ABV), which does leave a sense of warmth on the finish. It will probably be able to age for a bit, but I like it as it is now.

Opened and let air for an hour before drinking with pan-fried buttered crab crakes and spinach/blueberry salad w/feta. Took about 3+ hours to fully open up, and it improved as it warmed. Pale straw color with a golden hue. The nose brings apricot blossoms, whiffs of orange creamsicle, sour green apples, and dusty crushed limestone with subtle high-toned tangerine notes. The palate is full, round, creamy, and viscous, bringing a sweet core of honey, oranges, mangos, nectarines, guava, and papaya that transitions into a steely, mineral-laden finish. Good balance now though this will be best 2024-2030+. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Chez Monsieur B.
Vin dense, profond, avec tout de même de la rondeur. Difficile à l'aveugle, mais très bon.

Showing great - spicy minerally nutty nose, great balance on the palate with some exotic honeyed nutty notes braced by steely minerality.
