The owner notes that at 30 year old vines they don't need any oak yet. A bit of a barnyard note but maybe not brett - maybe more just the character of the Grenache and the Syrah. With good vibrancy and structure to it.

Red fruit, black pepper, olives, and mushrooms on the nose. Medium acidity on the palate with juicy raspberries and tomato juice. Medium tannins (stronger at first, then more balanced after an hour), graphite, minerals, and licorice on the finish. 88 on the first pour. 89 after it opens up.

Red fruit, cherries. Very fresh. A slightly burning sensation in the finish that goes away with decanting and after having been in the fridge. Decant and put it in the fridge for a while at this stage.

Color: Medium ruby. Nose: Red and dark berries. Cherries, too. Mouth: Very good expressiveness and good length. Medium bodied. Tannins are noticeable but never offensive. The alc. of 14 % is a tad noticeable. A hint of wild herbs.

One hour decant. Bright ruby. Cherries, hot peppers slight funk on the nose. Completely disjointed on the palate. Likely corked.
