Toasty and quite green on the nose. Green notes less dominant on the palate where vibrant green apple and lemon come through. Finishes long. Drink now or hold.
WSET notes:
Medium lemon green.
Pronounced on the nose with asparagus, lemon, green apple, grass, toast , smoke and wet stone. Youthful.
Pronounced and dry on the palate with some toast coming through. Medium minus body, medium alcohol, high acidity, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging.

White Bordeaux is the idea but to me it smells like chive and herb and garden. And more fun on the palate with its richness and full body. And maybe just a touch of a sulfur thing.

Pale straw color. A unique Sauv Blanc from South Africa barrel fermented so there is a slight wood aspect that really enhances this wine. Cut grass, tropical fruit, a touch of oak. A had this slightly chilled with shellfish and was outstanding.

13% abv Greyton, Western Cape, Elgin Soil: Decomposed shale Winemaking: Oxidative style. Older 600 litre barrels were used for the fermentation and maturation bringing forward richness, intense fruit and complexity. 15% of the production was fermented in 600 litre egg shape tanks. In both the barrels and the eggs, extended lees contact contribute further to the rounder mouth feel and creaminess of this elegantly textured wine. -/- Much greener than Reyneke, closer to Chile than NZ, lime, lemon, leafy, pear, green apple, again tight but with some nice juicy fruit in the back, smooth, med body and long finish

Tasted at a dinner with the winemaker. Surprising to have a bit of a smokey note, full body, paired great with an herbal asparagus soup.
