Chicago Wine Flock..."Wines that Jim Wanted to Compare" ("Chateau La Grange" - La Grange IL): Served double blind. I thought this Chardonnay, but from California. I think this really showed the 2006 vintage character. Ripe and forward apple and peach on both nose and palate, while also slightly tropical. Bit of new oak seems still pronounced. Good overall but not quite harmonious for me.

typical Chardonnay with great aging potential and minerality. The nose is a combination of limestone, hazelnuts and flowers with a good integration of the wood the bouquet is still closed and meant to develop. the pallet is velvety, long and smooth at will and depicts a wine that could age many years

Over the top I would say. The -07 is so much better and there´s only one year in between them.

Rousseau / Potel / Prieur Dinner (Knightsbridge): Medium yellow color. Big beautiful mineral yellow fruit nose. Lovely yellow rich fruit palate with banana notes. Nice.
