Despite the questionable "professional" reviews on this wine, it is a very solid value. It drinks like more than the stated 14% alcohol. The bouquet is pencil shavings, cedar, oak and yeast. The finish is dark bittersweet chocolate and sour cherries (albeit not too sour). I wouldn't rush out to buy cases, but again, it's a good deal.

Much better than last time. A yeasty red fruit on the nose. Palate continues to have a bit of minerality/metallic to the finish. The answer to this will be to pair it with the right food.

Opaque in the glass. Ripe plum and mocha chocolate nose initially with some oak. Medium-full bodied with lush texture and low acidity on the entry. Chewy black fruit on the palate. With short exposure this seemed to get more tannic and a little out of balance. Plan on retasting the leftovers tonight.

Full bodied, dark fruits... but something is missing. Structure perhaps?
