Well, guess what: it finally came together. Popped and Vinturied the first couple of glasses: delightful balance of fruit and heft. Chose this as a "white-like" red to accompany broiled salmon, sautéed savoy cabbage and baked potatoes & yams. On my second glass, I noted a hint of red cherry popsicle drippings, but in a good way. A very good QPR at $19; I can truly say that I wish I'd bought a case. The window is open for those with bottles remaining; I estimate it will last another year or three before tiring.

Day one: Popped and poured through a vinturi. Initially very tart, but good with food (pasta with bolognese sauce). Not sure what the alcohol content is, but found it noticeably dominant on the finish. An enjoyable wine, but I'd recommend decanting and letting it breathe for a couple of hours. For now, an 88, but I'm guessing it will improve over the next 24 hours.

Pull it out to pair with Lamb, thought could be too old. but it is suprisingly drinkable. Not bad for an Aussie Grenache.

Drinking better than the last bottle - nice sweet & sour fruit but with the alcohol still too obvious - not bad
