Not my favourite vintage but this has matured much better than I ever expected. The fruit is clearer and no longer stodgy, but it doesn't linger long in the mouth. Perfectly reasonable

Quite muted traditional aromas of boot polish, cassis, black raspberries and cloves. A medium bodied plump and firmly fruited palate with good concentration, a slightly austere middle with low oak and decent acidity. Ends medium with a mentholly note.

A dark Bordeaux red with dark core in the middle. Nice fruity bouquet of red and black berries, oak, tobacco and some roasted coffee.
Rounded and creamy tannins, juicy, sweet and a good acidity, red and black berries, leather, enamel and has a medium to full body. Long finish on the fruity and berry page.

Perfectly ok for the price, but nothing more. This was an unpleasant wine young, with syrupy fruit and tough tannins. Both these aspects have improved, the fruit is now better defined and lush rather than syrupy, but the finish is very abrupt and there is a general lack of structure.

Not bad at all for a 2003, reasonably fruity but the standard 03 stodginess is lurking
