  • Decided to revisit after enjoying the previous bottle last Fall. Decanted for three hours on day one but that wasn’t enough - it came across fairly closed/not overly expressive. I believe the last bottle was still in a really youthful/barrel tasting phase and it’s currently in a transition/awkward phase requiring some time. Revisited on day three and it improved quite a bit as it opened-up further. The Winery typically recommends giving this wine at least five years from the vintage date so 2024 which makes sense. I’m going to lay this vintage down for at least a year but more likely two. 94/95 points on day three. WA anticipated maturity 2023 to 2045. 100% cab.

  • Accumulating quality 2019 wines due to concerns with the 2020 vintage and thinking about buying more in light of the 97+ rating from WA but wanted to get an idea where it’s at first. Purple fruit - blackberry, currants, dark cherry, and blueberry. Really smooth with a nice purity and solid depth/concentration. Nice rich flavors of dark berries, some spice, and cocoa. Fairly long finish. Decanted during the day for around seven hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time but drinking well after the decant despite its youth. The Winery typically recommends giving this wine at least five years from the vintage date but surprisingly it was quite approachable at this youthful stage. A beautiful wine - no surprise of the 97+ rating from WA. 96/97 for me at this youthful stage. WA anticipated maturity 2023 to 2045. 100% cab.
