This is an elegant, restrained wine to savor. Opened 2hr before drinking. Floral, nose with subtle tea, mineral, ripe strawberry; bright soft fruit, subtle currants, violets, tea, earth, slight mineral, well balanced, medium to soft tannins, elegant smooth finish.

Dark ruby color with clarity and bright tones. Aromas of black cherry and ripe strawberry, with notes of clove, five spice, violet and Earl Grey tea. Ripe voluptuous red fruit on the palate with lifted fresh tones over a core of seamless secondary depth of nutmeg, black tea and melted stone. Refined and elegant, expansive through the middle palate, offset with fresh integrated acidity and fine silky tannins, finishing with very nice length of cool toned red fruit and spices. Primarily Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre, a beautiful expression. Drink/hold.

Glad there are Paso wineries making restrained wines. This wine is balanced with the Grenache serving as the star of this wine. Red fruit on the nose and on the palate. Some acid on the finish. This wine could benefit from a few years in the cellar, but it is lovely now. A bit pricey, but a nice wine.

Good now with a 30 minute decant. Ruby in the glass. Bright red fruits, good acidity. Medium plus body.
