Urine-golden colour, from oak rather than age. The wine takes quite a long time to develop in the glass. At first dominated by smokey reduction and obvious oak influence it transitions to very delicate floweriness and yellow fruits on the beak. On the palate the wine is challenging, due to the reduction -- this persists even after aeration. Other than that the palate is characterised by lively yellow fruit (and the reduction is still very present). A powerful wine that is fun to drink with food, though nothing to write home about.

Pale gold colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with yellow apples, lemon, smoke, butter and charred wood. Medium (+) taste of yellow apples, lemon, smoke, butter and charred wood. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good German White in a reductive Burgundy style with great potential. Drink now, but preferably wait a couple of years, up to ten years. Goes well with cheeses, fish or shellfish.

heavy reduction, oak is quite present at this young stage, nose overall is very typical for Huber Malterdinger, complex and intense, on the palate it seems a little bit weaker than older vintages, but nonetheless great wine with a great fun factor
