  • leather, sulfury aroma; dark fruit, light acidity, sl tannins at end

  • Thin, watery. It’s not a bad wine, just not something I’d purchase again for the $34 I paid

  • I'm with Cooker315 on this wine. Nothing about this is offensive, but there's nothing special about it either. Drinks like a $25 Haut Medoc or Entre Deux Mers without any of the charm. Soft and flabby, red flavors and oak.

  • Had at Hyde Park Steakhouse in Sarasota Florida. Decanted for an hour.

Clearly this is a well built wine. After an hour it trully opened up. I got fresh plum fruit and earthy mushroom. This is a developing story that is simply to young to draw conclusions on. Going to score as a 89 in waiting for an improvement after this is given time to improve.

  • Purchased on sale, I have had this before and always thought of it as a solid entry level wine at $40.

On initial PnP, was highly disappointed, as it seemed to just be Meh... but being a '19, was not in any hurry to throw in the towel just yet. Had only arrived about 2 weeks earlier, was a first taste on a PnP, and was a bit cold, originally trying at cellar temp.

Let sit in glass for another hour, and still very disappointing, just seemed really muted and shut down, so pulled out the trusty ole' Venturi and "roughed" it up a bit, and after a couple back and forth aerations, it started to show up, though still just very singular, but happily my favorite profile mostly purple & blue fruit with a backbone of black, with little to no red profile, Popped in a 'Repour' and let sit 2 more days, then opened up and let bottle decant for a bit longer.

Wow, what a difference a few days makes, now IMHO now its worthy of the $40+. Not going to be anything super noteworthy, but can definitely see that its got some stuffing to make it better than the average... just needs either a super long decant or a few years bottle age.

90+ ......but can see this maybe making 91-92 if develops some secondary, and the mid & finish round out longer with some bottle age.
