This was a rather unusual Dolcetto and rather unusual for a Paitin wine. Richer and denser than expected, particularly for the stated 13% alcohol, with slightly less bitterness on the back end than expected. It was not bad, but not particularly exciting either. I admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Dolcetto but I do like Paitin quite a bit. I suppose I expected something like their Langhe Starda, which is a lighter touch kind of wine and this was not.
