  The smoky black cherry aromatic notes are a prelude to this wine's olfactory profile, which also includes violets, Provençal herbs, licorice and exotic spices. Deep ruby in color, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and loaded with similar flavors on the full-bodied palate, it delivers its payload wrapped with plentiful rustic tannins and a modicum of wood. Dense in the middle and lengthy on the back end, this is a delicious, albeit angular Southern Rhone that will benefit from some time in the cellar. Drink 2026-2035.
