  • My bottle. A blend of chardonnay, sauv blanc and viognier, I threw it into an all-Sauv Blanc tasting expecting it to be an obvious but welcome outlier (some in the group are not SB fans). But no, sweet sungold tomato, pear and spice with enough herbs to unexpectedly keep anyone from suspecting it wasn't 100% SB. Really good, happy to have more in the cellar.

  • Balanced, great mouthfeel, citrusy, a bit of alcohol on the finish, barely noticeable. Drink cold.

  • Exceptional for the price point. Nice flowery bouquet with palate consistent with the blend (Chardonnay , Sauvignon Bleanc, Voigner); a little oily butter, citrus, & clean finish. Somehow it all works beautifully.

  • Pale, light golden in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, limes & some stone fruits with overtones of floral & mineral notes. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, limes & white peaches, stony & minerals. Crisp & dry lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it may develop further with an additional year of aging. An indicative blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Very good QPR.

  • Barolo Trip; 4/3/2022-4/7/2022 (Barolo): First wine tasted at Paolo Scavino. 2021 Vintage, just recently bottled in January. Always the same blend of 40% Chardonnay, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Viognier. From vineyards: Altenasso in Castiglione Falletto and Bricco Manescotto in La Morra. The Viognier is planted facing the west for more afternoon sun to increase the aromatics.

This was really a surprise to me, I didn't expect it to be of this high quality. Super fresh, good mouthfeel wither minerality and acidity. Citrus notes all around. The purpose of them making this wine came from a Piedmonte summer day, hot and sunny and the family wanted a refreshing white to drink in the summers...so they started making one and found this blend to be of their preference.
I thought about going back to pick up a bottle of this, but I think I should be able to find it in the States and didn't want to take up my already limited suitcase space on the first day.
