  • Quite muted and closed today, didn't show well, even after aeration. Bad day for this wine

  • Orange wine where the Savagnin grapes are fermented together with the skins like a red wine. The destemmed grapes are put into large clay amphoras without addition of sulfur and fermented for several months. After pressing they are transferred to wooden barriques and kept for a few months with “ouillage” (topping). Bottling without sulfur or filtration.
Yellow-orange colour, cloudy and with a nose and taste of tangerines and oranges. Nice enough but, to my taste a certain lack of freshness, not very complex and a bit flabby. I prefer by far the more usual wines (oxidative and non-oxidative) of this excellent producer. This wine is not for the long haul and should be consumed.
