  • Such a pleasure to drink at this stage and a solid value, as well - especially as Mike Smith’s other cabs (all terrific) keep moving up in price. Kudos to Matt and Amber for keeping this accessible. Really wish I had more of this 2020 in the cellar, as this is a fruit forward smile inducer.

  • This 2020 is showing progress, on a path of noticeable improvement. Cotton candy like nose with a rich dark color ruby, crimson purple color. On the palate, evolving dark fruits: blackberry, dark cherry, tart cranberry, dark current with a hint of plum. Much better than previous bottles and enjoyable now with a long decant. Consumed over two plus days, better on day two. 92+/ 93 Points.

  • Thinking about buying more but wanted to revisit first. Purple fruit - dark cherry, currants, blackberry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration. Nice rich flavors of cassis, baking spices, cocoa, and a little graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor and just a touch of tartness - some bing cherry. It could use some more time to open-up with the finish. Slow ox for eight hours and drank out of a decanter for a couple more. Improved a little with time. Enjoyable at this stage with a decent slow ox/decant but I believe it will benefit from another year or two. Once again, sourced from the Mould’s Vineyard, Kenefick Ranch, and the McGah Vineyard. 100% cab.

  • A very good wine with better upside with cellar time. Showing some improvement but initially showing a bit tight with some acidity. Much like my last bottle, big, dark and full bodied with a purple reddish color and a delightful bouquet. Palate wise, dark ripe black fruits, dark berries, dark currant, plum, some vanilla, with subtle hints of coco dust and violet aromas. I like this wine and I expect an improved profile with some cellaring. 93/93+ Points and much better on day 2.

  • Ripe blackberries, ripe blackcurrants, green bell pepper, graphite, dust, old wood, old leather, vanilla, vanilla, coconut, baking spices on the nose. Definitely new French oak influence here; but pretty restrained compared to other Napa CS. Medium + intensity of aromas. The palate is quite linear. At first, it's more primary, showing the ripe dark fruits; but then transitions to flavors of orange peel, lemon peel and bitter herbs. Throughout it all, there's secondary flavors (vanilla, cloves, tobacco) in the background. Medium + intensity of flavors too.

Full bodied with medium acid and medium tannin. Good long finish as detailed above. Drinking really well at age 3. No reason to NOT open it now; but I think it will stay in this state or better for the next 2-3 years. Overall very nice and varietally correct.
