  • My this is good. At this stage, this is the laser-focused lemon/lime version of Riesling. There are complexities lurking underneath, but now it is all about that electric citrus energy. What really strikes is the length. It seems to go on forever. Really unbelievable.

  • Pale white golden colour; expressive nose, smoky slate, apple, citrus, pear and chalk; firm and focused but light and delicate palate, bracing acidity balanced by a lovely hint of natural sweetness, bright rather than tart citrus fruit; energetic finish, aromatic green herbs, green apple skin, good length. On its plateau of maturity, drink now and over the next 5-8 years.

  • 10.5% abv. AP 9. 1/2. EYE: green; nickel brass; very pale, but not as desaturated as I could have expected given the age, prädikat, and producer. Pearlescent with dissolved gas (though sparkling texture is only near threshold of perception.) NOSE: line-dried Utah linen, restrained in breadth as it lunges with lime peel and chipped salt. MOUTH: a chirping, active attack deploys major-chord amusement before the collapse. Succulent, racy, laminar textures bring pine, celery seed, lime, birch, and green apple. This breaks open midway in a climax, making room for haunting, airborne mint sensations. The finish is impressively long, exquisitely balanced, sincere, and beautiful—with an endless supply of mouthwatering stone tartness.

  • Compared to other ‘21 Kabinetts, this has way less fruit. Actually it’s probably the least fruity Riesling I’ve ever tried. Instead, it’s just pure minty herbs and minerality. Mountain rock stream water is a good descriptor.

The acid and lack of residual sugar create a really unique texture on the palate. Sort of like there are very fine crystals in it… but not obviously CO2 like a lower end Feinherb. Really stunning wine.

  • So good. I think I actually prefer this over Keller VdF. Gives me that similar minerally acidic structure that's so refreshing.
