Terroir in wine (Taylor's wines, Alexandria): "Served blind. medium minus intensity aromas, a little meaty, peachy, slight struck match. Juicy, tangy, stone fruit, a little drying, slightly coarse textured, fruit core has sweetness. I guessed Australian, Victorian"

A Chardonnay planted on one of the finest vineyards in Yarra - Applejack. Moderate lemon in the glass. Superb complexity on the nose here - starts off nutty, then continues into some green apple, peach & nectarine. Turns into lovely florals and then ends in a great tropical vibe. A wine you can smell for days. Palate is the same - it just keeps on giving. There is a wonderful mineral feel here backed up by an explosion of floral and melon notes. Long, bright finish. Lovely wine, one for the books.

Nose: Slightly smoky mineral, toast, pineapple, butter, vanilla, stone fruit, tiny note of rubber.
Palate: Dry entry, some exotic fruit but quite restrained. Some mineral and wood, soft apple note.
