Nose: tar, anise, licorice, mint, meat Notes: this is so concentrated and feels almost like a Bordeaux. I am a little confused why this doesn't even feel like pinot. Certainly not a big fan of this kind of style. I have actually read a lot of good reviews on this maker so was kind of looking forward to try this but the decision of ordering this has been regrettable. This wine is extremely overripe and it is difficult to comprehend how and why this has happened. The nose is so sweet and ripe although arguable the palate is not as aggressive. This is definitely not a typical Burgundy and for those looking for lighter and more elegant wines, I don't think this is your choice. I would think this has some aging potential and should be cellared for another 2-3 years. Drink: 2026+ Rating: 84

Superbe fruit rouge et un peu noir éclatant et généreux, quand même assez de structure et d’équilibre avec une belle finesse et surtout une fraîcheur qui se reflète surtout dans cette finale savoureuse, magnifique. 91-92
Gorgeous red and dark fruit, cherries, energetic and generous, nice balance and freshness especially on the delicious finish.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Walkaround tasting. Ripe red cherry with slightly firm tannins for now, this is big and attention grabbing. Lots here, tasty now. but certainly better in another few years.

Big Burgundy Tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): A little sour black fruit, smidge of wood glue, savoury spice. In the mouth it's savoury, slightly bitter, funky, silky burr. Hmm.

Acceptable, very full body, dark fruits, meaty, taste more like Bordeaux. Doesn’t taste like Pinot noir but easy to drink.
