  • Tasting new samples back in the UK

Ripe, deep red/dark nose - very good lift. Notes of raspberry and a spicy floral quality.

Lovely sweetness on the attack, feels pretty together (not tight), lots of richness but clean and fresh. Definite cork of black cherry and almond - nice defintion but less expressive than a month ago at the property.
Easy-going tannins - barely even thought to write about them! Will drink very well young but has some fine underlying structure. Very pretty, lots of charm.

  • Dynamic feel to the nose (chalky frame?) good focus, a speckled and chalky fragrance, notes of dark flowers, blue/black fruit… pretty and expressive, elderberry too. Great freshness (and some menthol vapour).

The palate is intense and notably concentrated (wow) – amazing freshness and purity, tantalising acidity and sweetness. Superb lift, clean and fresh, very well-defined. Juicy, lovely tannins. I love this!
