Darker and a bit fuller than the 18, the nose is still bursting with fresh red and dark berries, the palate puts some structure around the fruit, and over time 5he tannins push their way through the juicy berry fruit, another year or so should meld them together more, but no crime to drink now, especially with food

purplish ruby and medium body. there's a bit of funk that lingers for a bit but does allow fresh red currants and blackberries to come thru along with spicy sap, herbal, and dried flower notes. as with all Mencias, it takes a bit of time to open up, but does so to beautiful tart cherry and blackberry flavours that broaden over a dusty mineral base. good acidic lift, fairly smooth tannins, and pepper accents that lead to good length.
moderately complex "village level" food wine that drinks well (with aeration). likely fully developed already.
13.5% AbV; 85% Mencía/ 15% mixed white varietals (Doña Blanca, Godello, Palomino); varietals are co-fermented with 65% whole clusters in large open-top foudres; aged on the lees for eleven months in a mix of 300L and 500L french oak barrels (some new).
