"Provenant d'une parcelle juste en dessous de Meursault 'Sous la Velle', La Monatine ! Un lieu-dit intéressant et racé, en Bourgogne Blanc." Superbe bouquet sur les agrumes et fleurs blanches. Bonne acidité, de la matière en bouche et très belle longueur, effectivement excellent!

My first bottle from Marthe Henry and I need to start out with saying; get some bottles for yourself before it's too late! This is a very high level for a Bourgogne Blanc!
It definitely gave me some "mini-Meursault"-vibes. Quite yellow in color even this young, but I think it spends about 18 months in barrel.
A great symphony of orchard fruits, toasted oak, freshly churned butter but brown butter as well. A touch of white flowers add to the creamy and slightly rich and powerful mouthfeel, but there's a piercing citrus and green apple acidity with a slight green herbal bitter touch and a profound saline minerality.
This is a wine not really going off in any specific direction but stays well in the middle of it all. For an entry-level Bourgogne Blanc at this price point I'm extremely interested in trying more from Marthe - especially her Meursaults...

Excellent, more floral and in more need of time than Grandes Gouttes, definitely punches above it's weight

A "cult" wine tasting and lunch (Restaurant Bak, Amsterdam, NL): Magnum. Next to Sous la Velle. Older wood, very little sulfur. Solid Burgundy, good weight, not too earthy, lovely purity in the fruit, silky texture, good length.
