I've tried different LBV's over the last year - Kopke lbv 2016 & 2018 - Taylor's lbv 2017 - Smith Woodhouse LBV 2009
And i gotta say, that overall LBV's is not worth the money.
Kopke and Fonseca are similar: You have overcooked wine, a bunch of sugar and just to fuck it up, add vodka = won't touch it ever again, 80 Points
Taylor's is more decent: You have the dark fruits but not to much. The balance between acidity, sugar and alcohol level is good = a well made LBV i could have a glass of with People that is not "wine-people", 88 Points
Smith Woodhouse: My good god, this is quality! Its fat, its sirupy, its sticky. Dark fruits, secondary notes, perfect balance of sugar, alcohol, acidity AND it serves you well after a looong decant. I actually think it comes close to Taylor vintage, just a little sweeter = buy this LBV and go to hell with the others, 93 Points

2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Bottled in 2022, this LBV is a dark purple-amber color. The nose is floral with predominant blueberry notes and a touch of light herbs. Intense purple fruit dominates the palate, supported by pronounced, round tannins. The wine exhibits great structure, and will likely age very well. 91 points.

Confraria Induction Trip; 6/19/2022-6/26/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Bottled in 2022. Dark purple in color with garnet on the edges. Primary black fruits on the nose with a touch of spirit. Rich palate with notes of blueberry and black currant. Well-integrated tannins and smooth, but rich flavor profile. Nice long, well-integrated finish. This is a fresh, smooth, and pleasant LBV.

Do not know much about ports but this was a great after dinner wine with a blood orange custard meringue pie.
