  • Great value for Bordeaux (12 Euros) and surprisingly this bottle showed almost no signs of age despite being 16 years old. Dark-toned wine with a slightly rustic oak treatment and still some rough tannins. Good acidity, some rusty iron flavors, and an interesting and slightly bitter vegetal note of tobacco leaves. Not a wine of elegance, but (considering its price) it is quite impressive for its richness of flavors and its youthful character. Likely to drink well for another ten years. - 88 points

  • Wieder ganz grossartig. Johannisbeernase, schwarzbeerig, leichter Zederntouch.

Tag 2 - ganz grossartige Nase, Zedern, Karamell, Rauch, etwas Banane. Am Gaumen vollmundig, samtig, druckvolle, fast schon primärfruchtige Johannisbeere, auch hier etwas Banane, grossartig integrierte Tannine, frische Säurestruktur.
Ein ganz, ganz, toller Wein. Mit Jahrzehntepotential! 94

  • Nicely aged Haut Medoc. Still needed 30-60 minutes to open up but with time the bouquet offers classic aromas of some cedar, cassis and other dark berries, as well as some unterwood. The tannins are still quite present and a little coarse but overall this is a great value bordeaux. Initially I bought this wine for under 11€. Should easily hold for another decade.
