  • We bought this at our visit and tasting at the Gauby office in Calce. Popped and poured as a nightcap over 2 nights on the terazza in Cadaques (and then another on the Terazza in Tossa) It’s delicious and a little unusual compared to most of the whites we drank in Roussillon and Empordà in that it has a relatively high percentage of Macabeu, plus a splash of chardonnay. We didn't experience anything similar, but it worked! The cépage is Macabeu 40%, Grenache Blanc 30%. Carignan Blanc 5%, Grenache Gris 10%, Chardonnay 15% - all from vineyards 30 to 100 years old. Aged on the lees 65% in barriques (used), 35% in stainless. Floral aromas, minerality, stone fruit and hints of citrus on the palate. We drank this young, but I think it’ll improve and be even better in a few years.
