After the excellent 2018 Akasha last week, we wanted to give this one a try. Coravined into a mini decanter for 6 hours. Not sure it made a difference and maybe lost something on the nose from pnp. Very similar to the 2018 but not drinking quite as well (yet, I hope). Big juicy fruit, very well balanced despite being overall HUGE. More savory notes than we found in the ‘18. Meaty, herbal, food like. Probably better complexity but overall not the same wow factor. Will try again in a year.
(Btw , in case I have given the impression that this wine wasn’t delicious, we ended up opening the whole bottle that I had painstakingly coravined. Not a drop left for day 2 analysis)
A deep ruby red and nice long legs in the glass On the nose blackberry, plums and other dark fruit On the palate a smooth luxurious texture with flavors of dark fruit and some chocolate Torrin is a small winery that produces small lots of wine The problem is that there is not a lot of it to go around.....although they are making some fabulous stuff......this is a big Sarah and real tasty........

Finishing up the remnants of last night’s bottle, and as one expects with a young wine, night number two finds it more open and pleasurable. Sweet black fruit, blueberry, pepper and game. Bright sweet black fruit, boysenberry and spice on the palate. Balanced, with a lingering finish.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Double blind. Asian spice, black fruit, molasses and barbecue aromas. Rich, with black fruit, chocolate and blueberry flavors. Has a nice bit of spice carrying through the finish. Very impressive. (R&R)
