Wow…this is in a shockingly good place right now! Had at a restaurant starting to consume after a 30 min decant. Solid, but by the 45 minute mark it was fantastic! So not sure you really need to endeavor to polish off what you have left in the cellar this calendar year after all…

Well, six years on, and this is drinking much better than my first one, thankfully, although, airtime is bringing in a little more dark fruited nature. Fairly opaque coloring here, with garnet edges and clear meniscus. Aromas of dark red and black fruits, blueberry, black cherry, graphite minerality, some woody notes of black tea, cedar, and leather, orange peel, and crushed rocks. Medium body and finish, medium (+) acid, and flavors of black cherry, plum, lemon, orange peel, and other juicy citrus notes on the finish. Overall, much improved, and enjoyable.

In a great place right now. Popped and poured and enjoyed over 3-4 hours. Showed ripe blueberries, pipe tobacco, and anise. Tannins were fully integrated and fine.

(Giacomo Grimaldi Barolo Le Coste) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-the most New World of the 3; little cream puff; raspberry tart; heavy & obvious rhubarb; some apple; underlying peppermint; exotic; chocolate covered cherries; strawberry fruit roll-up; TASTE-really heavy old world tobacco flavor on the mid-palate (some will be turned off); then surrounded by New World flavor (a little confused); but has big potential; very young; I like it, but not exactly my cup of tea, but many would like; AG-93; GV-90
