  • Medium-light red. Initially a very pungent aroma, dominated by band-aid (brett) and sadly also badly infected cork (TCA), with lesser notes of menthol, leather, cherry, meat. Excessively tannic and quite tart with high acid. Bitter, drying, unpleasant finish. This, the last bottle from my brother's cellar, somehow is showing simply worse than even the final bottle from my own supply earlier this year. Voge's product quality in the mid-90's was ummm, variable, to say the least. A nice man, but something got away from him for a while in the cellar.

  • Pale red, much sediment dropped out. I could just smell this wine and pretty much be happy enough. The complex, flowered, smoky, menthol-laden nose invites the sip. Flavors are decent of old syrah and the concentration a bit watery in the short finish. Bottle #6 of six.
