This was the first Gruner Veltliner I've had. I thought it was quite tasty and paired well with some Pad Thai. I can't say that I found it highly differentiated vs. other French white wines I've had but I thought it was good nonetheless.

I haven't much experience with Grüner Veltliner, but I enjoyed this bottle. The aroma was very familiar, in fact it smelled like an apple pie: baked apple, touch of cinnamon and fresh ground nutmeg, and golden baked crust. The only twist, there was just a bit of dried pineapple in the profile. The acidity was nicely balanced. There was a little caramel sweetness to keep it in line. A very good summertime drink.

Loimer tasting with Fred Loimer: Nose more subdued than the 2005. Good mouthfeel. Very salty. More acidic than the 2005. Intense and balanced. Very nice!

Medium heavy oily riesling-like. I don't remember much but this didn't have as much the usual white pepper. Pretty basic good wine.
