I brought this from my tasting at Faiveley last year. Still (too) young, very primary and was best on day 3 & 4, so I would keep your bottles at least another 5 years. Medium intensity with cherries, forest floor, oak spices, hint of brett? Hardly any tertiary notes yet. Medium+ acidity, medium- tannins, long finish. 91+

France Trip: Paris, Champagne, Burgundy; 9/3/2023-9/17/2023 (Paris, Champagne, Burgundy): Light-medium red color. Split bottle between the four of us over 2 hours at our picnic in the Beaune 1er Vineyards between Les Teurons and Les Greves. I picked this up during our visit to Faiveley since it had some decent age on it, and the Mercurey wines we tasted there were quite good. I'm duly impressed, this was nice indeed. Tart cherry, iron, blood, medium body, raspberry, on the palate, nice mineral notes and really fine tannins. I'd seek this out.

Annual wine trip; Bourgogne & Champage with Bas; 6/14/2023-6/18/2023 (France): [Tasting at Domaine Faiveley] Pale ruby in color with a small bricking rim. Medium intensity on the nose with lovely tertiary development notes. Red fruit, spices, some forest floor and cured meat. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins and a long finish.
The ‘La Favorite’ cuvee is from their oldest vines (30-40 years) in Le Clos du Roy. 25% whole bunch, 30% new oak for 15 months
They have an amazing fermentation room (rebuild in 2018) and marvelous cellars. Before the visit I had the idea that they are mainly negociant, but they have 120 ha own vineyards and nowadays only 10% is negociant business, mainly with their whites
