    Vineyard: Schloss Johannisberg
    Single vineyard Schloss Johannisberg is located right on the 50th parallel north, with the size of fifty hectares, facing exactly south. A quartzite hill in front of the Taunus mountains. With an inclination of 45 degrees, the mountain extends up to 182 metres above sea level and offers the grapes perfect sunshine. Vines 20-30yo.
    Yield: 60 hl/ha
    Soil Type: Taunus quartzite with a layer of iron dioxide containing red loam.
    Vinification: 1200 ltr oak barrels made from native oaks which grow in our own castle forest. Maturation: 6 months on the lees. Oak influence: The natural texture of the oak, its structure and components influence gently the character of our Riesling. Months in bottle: 300, production 300.000 bottles

    Beautiful, full decadent, fresh still, with elegant overripe stone fruit, tropical fruit, pineapple, yellow apple, spicy with a fine thin nutty oak frame, tin peach and apricot.
    Palate is very smooth, juicy with med to high acidity, med body, tin stone fruit again with tin pineapple, long finish
