Decanted and drank over 2hr. Overall a good wine, but didn’t really impress. Seems a common theme with dolcetto, hoped this would be a touch better. Have a few more and will let them sit a bit and decant longer

Just a quick taste as we had other bottles open and I am trying to detox from my travels. But this was better that I expected for a dolcetto. Dark color, nice fruit and acid. I wish I had paid more attention!

Nice vibrant purple color. Drinking as we speak on its 2nd night, and 2 days after the 2016 Roagna Langhe Rosso (that tasting note posted recently). As in the Rosso, this Dolcetto has a rich purity of fruit, but dare I say, an off-putting rubbery edge. Will it blow off? I certainly understand Nebbiolo tar, but in 30 yrs of Italian wine drinking, I have not experienced it at this level in Dolcetto, and aeration does not seem to alleviate it. The fact that it is glaringly similar in that element to the Langhe Rosso doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Still a rich well balanced wine overall, and clearly well made. Drank on Day 1 next to a Einaudi Dolcetto Dogliani, which was fine, but doesn't compare to the Roagna in purity of fruit or complexity. Piedmontese tar I don't mind, and I will continue to try Roagna for its reputation. Rubber tires I can do without.

Purple color, lovely nose of raspberry and dusty earth. Nice acidity and balance, good persistence and finish.
