Opened 90 min before drinking. Initially, it was very light, almost thin. Got much better over the evening.
Very pleasant, great food old burg. Fruit forward, with raspberry and cherry, with a medium finish. In my experience, Groffier is an outstanding producer.

Decanted for two hours prior to serving, this wine is in a terrific spot right now. My first experience with this vineyard, the "pretty" chambolle perfume is immediately evident, and only intensifies over the course of a meal. Sour cherries and black tea stood out to me. The palate is soft, though not quite silky just yet. Plenty of acid made it the perfect accompaniment for my wife's chicken/mushroom casserole. This could only be burgundy with some age. Quite reasonably priced, to boot, if you can find it. Drink now, or wait.

Open for business for us this night, with a huge effusive nose of all things cherry and ripe red fruit, just an explosion. Clean as a whistle, spice and forest notes swirl in an out of a symphony of cherry. Balanced, caressing on the palate. More, more!

This is a public service announcement: if you or your family own or plan to purchase this wine, please be aware that it is NOT ready to drink at this point. Pretty much dumb as a post for over an hour after opening, some beguiling oolong tea, sandalwood, and black raspberry aromas start to unwind at about the 90-minute mark. And I mean, just barely unwind! Keep these sideways for another 3+ years at least; opening them now is simply throwing (considerable) money away.

Outstanding bottle; I've had a lot of bottle variation from this case. Just goes to show, as they say;no great wines, only great bottles.
