Proper well made cali Chardonnay and very much well mannered wine. Oaky for sure but not dominated by the oak and has a lovely bright citrus feel that runs across that provides balance. Pretty 91

PnP. Fallow straw with clear edge in color. Nose of honeysuckle, kiwi, physalis and white peach. On the palate: honeysuckle, golden kiwi and physalis. Medium weight with linear progression across the palate and good acid backbone. Long finish of lime, honeysuckle and earthy salinity.

Very pale gold in colour. Summer meadows (buttercups, dandelions and white flowers) with some sea salt. Medium bodied, saline, very dry, bright but not particularly fruity, with quite prominent acidity at this stage. I think it is too early and it needs a few years in the cellar, although still enjoyable now. 13% ABV and closed with Diam 10.

I have always enjoyed this offering from the Liquid Farm fam, but this one did not distinguish itself as others in the past. It was lacking some verve and acidity and seemed a bit cloying, like over-ripened orchard fruit. I am not sure additional time would have helped remedy anything. I have a couple of older vintages I will pull out of this for a compare and contrast.

Their Chablis like one apparently, which doesn't taste Chablis like for me. But its still a lovely wine. Textured full, and rounded. Solid. Works at $50 but certainly doesn't distinguish itself in a field of $50 Santa Barbara Chard.
