ruby colour and light body. notable floral and spice aromas enhance the nose of red currant and damp earth. in mouth it is a bit a conundrum, as flashes of pure fruit, tart citric acidity and bittersweet tannins take turns in the palate but don't seem to meld together until sometime during the moderate finish.
this could be a great wine if the mouth integrates to match the nose.
13% AbV; from 30-40 y.o. vines next to the famous Clos des Mouches; aged for fourteen months in French oak (30% new).

Tasting of 2021 Albert Morot Reds (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. Light red color. Earth and green notes on the nose. Light weight, tart, short on fruit. A citric twist and chocolatey tannins that are a bit out of proportion. Very backward. Not very appealing-somehow the tannin seems riper than the fruit.
