Wanted to try them and picked up the basic one. It is bright. Gripping. Upon opening like gooseberry and acid. Then opened and had nice layers and bright apple. Then moved into more tropical flavors. But bracing acid throughout. Can age longer. Not a Chardonnay I am use to. Feel like a blend and different food pairing. Need to try again with other food. And need to find their single vineyard stuff

2020 was a tough year in the Willamette Valley. This wine is a good example of how even excellent winemakers like Marcus Goodfellow struggled. The wine has a little bit of reduction in the nose. The taste is predominately lemon, with high acidity and sharpness. It is simple in flavor with thin body. Not representative of the quality of chardonnay that MG usually makes.

Decanted and in wine fridge. Now 1.5h after decant. Very shy aromas - just not getting much at all. Palate with tart apples, lemon, nice minerals, herbs, then more just ripe apples on midpalate. Nice juicy, finish of tart apples, a bit of grapefruit pith, minerals, and herbs. Outstanding acids on a medium-full body. Nice concentration of flavors. Tastes young and not revealing all its goods. 89 for now but I think several years of aging will reveal more.

Delicious entry level OR Chardonnay. Stone fruit and lemon. Nice acid for energy and minerals for balance and structure. Good density of flavor but only medium weight makes this refreshing and crushable in the best possible way on a hot summer day.

Drank through our 3 bottles very quickly, this scratches my Chardonnay itch perfectly. It’s driven by acid and minerality but still has nice orchard fruit and weight. Not reductive or showing oak like some of the single vineyard bottlings, likely because it’s not built to age, and sometimes that’s just what I want.
