My wife is somewhat new to wine. I gave her this wine and a verdicchio de matelica blind and asked which she preferred. I predicted the answer, knowing her tastes: this wine. What I didn’t anticipate is that she immediately continued: new world, old world. Indeed! It’s that obvious.
This wine is made in a new world style. I’m not a fan. It lacks acidity / vibrance. It tastes like cooked apples and peaches. Boring.

deeply colored, yellow rim. on nose honeyed apple and melon. no new oak or malo. some minerality. on the palate high acids, a viscous midpalate, finishes with some phenolics and low alcohol. balanced wine with ok length, very good intenstiy, minimal complexity. wine has fineese, a fine texture, and is quite freindly. very nice NW pinot gris to drink now or hold a year or two, nothing mind bending though.

Nice, with notes of apples and citrus. Paired with food, it was buttery and rich, though against something sweeter, the acid really stood out. But was nice with pan friend trout with lemon.

Very light yellow. Pear, honey and nicely done. A touch of grapefruit mid palate.
