  • Toward the upper limit of concentration and ripeness for me, but the acidity balances it out. Medium to full bodied. Another TN mentioned “cherry candy” and that is quite accurate. I wager this will age and improve gracefully. A lush example of full throttle California Pinot Noir.

  • Typical WS Road. And promising.

  • Ruby red to the rim. Pronounced red fruit, cherry and strawberry aromas. Light to medium in body. Low to medium tannins. Soft and supple. Mouthwatering acidity. Long finish with cherry cola and red fruit. Lovely bottle. Already searching for more.

  • Decanted, but not left open for very long. Tasted at same time as Sonoma Coast
    C: Ruby
S: Fainter, more fruit/cherry, less side notes, carmel, red cherry
S2: Fruit forward, alcohol heat, more subtle than Sonoma Coast
T: Medium acidity, no rs, cherry, a little green/astringent, wood/carmel on finish, fruity but not overly so, maybe a bit young. Compared to Sonooma Coast: Leaner, grippier, a better aging candidate, fruitier,

  • No notes taken. This youthful gem is a revelation, dazzling with its layered complexity. It’s an artful blend of earthy minerality and pure, candy-like fruit, creating a delightful contrast. The precision here is exceptional, each element in harmonious balance. The acidity is the star, keeping everything light and fresh. This bottle confirms it for me: Williams Selyem stands at the pinnacle of Californian Pinot. It’s a superb expression of the varietal. Too bad, it’s hardly available in Europe.

Decanting: Not decanted, followed over three hours. No extensive decanting necessary.
