Red fruits, muddled flower petals, herbs, spice, glycerin, and alcohol...a whole lot of all...for better and for worse. More broadly, in the IN-YOUR-FACE style. None too elegant...but it makes its presence known. Not the equal of several terroir-driven Gigondas offerings tasted on this occasion. 89-90.

Second bottle acts like all the other reviews. Still puzzled by the 2/1/2024 bottle because it definitely didn’t seem flawed, just all acid and tannin.

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color; essentially opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & kirsch with overtones of floral notes of violets & earthy/dusty notes, spices, pepper, minerals, hints of sandalwood, some garrigue & a bit of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (93+). It needs a decade at a minimum.

Grenache salt dominates along with expected Mourvèdre spice. So typically Gigondas. Yummy!

High acidity and tannic, all the usual Gigondas character, just thin and austere. Maybe it has shut down? I’ll try another bottle to confirm.
