Riesling and Piedmont - Summer Throwdown; 7/23/2016-7/25/2016: Ruwer elegance at its best. the color is light - as if this was bottled this year. lemon-curd, pear, peach, perhaps a hint of petrol. mid is light and bright with green apple and white peach, perhaps the spicy green papaya salad. tons of minerality. long zesty finish. Elegance to the max!

Choucroute Garnie at Sarah and Jonathan's (Theater District, Manhattan, NYC): Mature nose of peach, juicy acidic citrus, great spice. Wonderful on the palate - great lemon, peach, petrol, creamy yet elegant and very sharp. Mature creaminess - not harsh at all. Finish of powerful citrus, lemon-lime, peach and spice. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.

Fresh and elegant. Perfectly mature now (but will keep for years). Notes of petrol and pineapple . Prickly acidity that made it feel almost sparkling at first. Slight sweetness that quickly dries out into a long and elegant finish. Great to drink something quite different from the average wine.

To me, fantastic. Rich flavors of Auslese, with a distinctly dry palate. Reminded many of an Austrian riesling, plenty of time to let this one rest - if you can find it, buy it, great value.

Cork. Very pale. Complex nose of tropical fruit. Steely minerality on the palate, lycee, not too sweet as this is balanced by searing acidity across the Tongue and a LONG finish. Slightly oily in texture. I think this will develop nicely with the front end flavour and back end acidity integtrating over time. Very good now though.
