Really lovely bottle of aged Villages burg. Fruit showing some maturity and development but will surely go quite a bit longer, and, depending on your preference for tertiary elements, should hold or improve for many years. Even so, in quite a good place now. Lots of autumn forest notes going on with some mild Asian spice elements as well. The fruit is red and bright, bordering on tart but saved by the mature elements. Very nice for Thanksgiving fare. Purchased many years ago from a store which used to sell the Meo wines at quite reasonable prices. I hear little about M-C these days, so perhaps they've fallen out of favor. I recall that pricing became much more aggressive. In any case, glad to have had this.

Som Chaumes fra samme produsent er denne i ferd med å glattes ut og bli en riktig god vi. Drikker altså helt greit nå, men sannsynligvis enda bedre om ett år eller to.

This wine still shows a lot of strength and youth. It looks violet-colored, body is medium/full. Aromas of typical berries (black, red) and stoniness are present here (stoniness seems to be the norm for 06, but less present than 08s, for example). On the palate, you find your typical Vosne spiciness (black and white pepper mostly), but its texture is still firm and angular, and tannins are there. The finish is a tiny bit on the dry side, but lengthy, lengthy ...
Overall, a solid effort, and (for me) a pleasure to drink today and enjoy.

Reductive nose, but then a very sumptuous body - not at all romanee more central otago but very enjoyable, nice spice and length and still has the legs to go further - good

Er egentlig ingen stor fan av 06, men denne var nå ganske glatt og avrundet og egentlig bedre enn forventet.
