Not nearly as bad as I feared. I generally despise 2011 red Burgs. This one opened from cellar temp with a classic green 2011 nose. But the palate was much better - showing less green and more delicious fruit...but with an acid streak reminiscent of 2008, and some ashy finish that you also see on 2011 reds. After letting this air out and warm up, the nose blossomed and the green factor diminished (but never disappeared). The palate became pretty darn good - I was surprised in a good way. When I visited Meo in 2013, it was my impression that they had done very well with this horrible vintage. This bottle was proof of that over 10 years later.

Pnp, bright garnet. Red fruits jump right out of the glass, typical vosne spicy nose too. Fine balance on palate between sweet fruits and tannin with ample acidity. This offer a glimpse into what VR wines are capable of in the hands of Meo Camuzet, even from a village level pov. Will continue to evolve, lovely.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #023; Vosne Romanée (By VD): In the still somewhat locked bouquet red berries, minerals, earth and new oak. On the palate red berry fruits, flint stone minerals, spices, vanilla of the oak which is not fully integrated yet, fresh and juicy acidity and sticky tannin. Wait 5+ years. 91 - 92

Weekly tasting group RWP #240: Burgundy 2011 (@ VD): In the bouquet cherries and red berries, minerals, herbs, earth and some barnyard impressions. On the palate juicy red berries and sticky cherries. Red currant acidity, some metal and slightly drying tannin. Supple and a good length.

Meo has become better and better. Not so heavy and extracted anymore. This was quite transparent and the leaner 2011 suits the style even better.
