Developed and very translucent cherry red with noticeable brick-red hue that turns to almost colorless orange towards the rim. Quite developed and pretty expressive nose with aromas of ripe cranberries, rose hips, some raspberry marmalade, a little bit of old and smoky farmhouse, a hint of funky barnyard and a whiff of dried red fruits. The wine feels firm, medium-bodied and lively on the palate with very dry and savory flavors of juicy cranberries, some sour cherries, a little bit of rose hip marmalade, light leathery character, a hint of old, savory wood and a touch of sweet, pruney fruit. The wine is high in acidity with very gently gripping light tannins. The finish is slightly grippy and somewhat earthy with medium-long flavors of earth, ripe cranberries, tart lingonberries, a little bit of dried red fruits, a hint of ripe dark fruits and a touch of sweet wild strawberry.

A nicely developed and nuanced Burgundy red with a lot of finesse and lovely texture - but surprisingly not much Pinosity. Sure enough, if served blind, this kind of translucent, delicate and nuanced wine would be easy to guess correctly as Pinot Noir, but it really doesn't scream Pinosity like Burgundy reds usually do. Instead, this wine reminded me quite a lot of aged Spätburgunders of Querbach from the early 2000's. Despite its less typical expression, the wine is as sophisticated and enjoyable you would expect a 1er Cru Burgundy to be at +15 years of age. Not cheap at 27€ for a 12 cl glass in a wine bar, but offering enough pleasure to be worth it.
