  This is an excellent vintage and is what we use to judge other cabs. We are not experts, certainly, but this vintage is really terriffic. Very luscious, intense nose and fruit forward taste, wtih a long finish. The winery is nearly out of this vintage, but they have other years available. The fruit was sourced from a small block of old vines from the Smith and Hook Ranch, next to Hahn Estates and production is very low. We were fortunate to get several bottles a few years ago, when the price was reasonable, and it has now gone up considerably. We bought it because it was so much better than other wines we were tasting at the time. The winery considers this to be one of their best vintages. I am keeping this in the cellar for a while.

  Just as good as the previous bottle. Looking at it, you wouldn't think it was a cab. Even the flavor profile isn't similar. Sweet fruit like blueberries and blackberries. Vanilla and spice, I really enjoy this wine. Nicely integrated tannins, and a very flavorful and long finish. I can't get enough!!! 91-93 points.

  Delicious. A cab from Santa Lucia Highlands!!! Not as dark as a Napa cab... meadium/heavy ruby in color. The nose is very deceiving. Mainly dominated by olive and some hints of blueberry. On the palate, this is wonderful. On the sweet side, but not in a bad way. Almost "pinot-like" with flavors of blueberry, blackberry and a touch of chocolate. No olive on the palate at all, with some nice vanilla and spice. Perfect mouthfeel, and a medium/long finish. Delicious, I'm looking for more. It can hold, but its so good now, why wait? Drink now. 91-93 points.

  This wine is a little decieving if you don't let it settle either decant or let it sit a while. I never though Santa Lucia could make a great cab....Great job I would recommend this to anyone 90 Pts!
