Upping score another two points since fall. Massive dark purple, hedonistic wine. But what else did you expect? Drank over two nights, tasting notes consistent each night. Best drank in next 3-5 years.

Significant improvement from the last bottle. A decent QPR these days for a Napa Vally Cabernet, a worthy wine for sure. 93+/ 94 Points. See previous comments.

HMC brought this to our event last night with about a 2 hour decant and then it slow ox'd at the table for about 3 more.....
Dark garnet in the glass.....strong nose of candied pine needles and a bit of menthol with some cedar on the back end, as well.
Palate of red/dark red fruit. Quite balanced and smooth at this stage and with this decant. Quite good considering it's one of the most affordable Carters. I toyed with giving it a 95 but it just appeared to be a bit too young and 'candied' at this stage. I really used to love that candied fruit component, but my palate is slowly moving off that. As one of the others in the group said, it felt a bit manufactured to him. It's pretty yummy but I'd like to see what it does in a year or three......thanks for bringing this one, HMC.

A very good vintage that holds promise for improvement. Good now, but I expect this wine will gain traction with some cellaring. Dark, enticing purple color and nose. Nice dark berry fruits, blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, dark currants and some leather and a hint of tobacco. Good extraction but a little contained/ restrained at this stage because of its youth. This was pretty much a pop and pour and I fully expect it to be better on day 2. A nice value addition to the Carter lineup (3rd vintage) and a decent price when compared to similar wines in its class, actually this one may have an edge with some cellaring. Fruit source, Oakville and Soda Canyon, 92+/ 93 Points, good stuff.

This one seems to be in an ebb and flow mode for now, but I think time is on the side of this bottling. Hold for now. 92+/93 Points.
