First time trying Kumeu river. Too young, but interesting to see and compare to Art Series and 1er cru PM. Prefer to the Hunting Hill. Buttery and fruity. Aggravates my palette like most Chardonnay, so not for me.

Hand harvested Whole-bunch pressed Indigenous yeast fermentation 100% barrel fermentation 100% malo-lactic fermentation 11 months maturation in barrel
Colour pale straw / lemon bright and clear 15/15 Nose intense complex and layered , smoky and flinty with nougat, white peach, grilled nuts cashew , floral blossoms and oak spice notes, leasy 29/30 Palate full bodied Complex, weighty and even slightly saline on the palate, with toasty flavours and clean, soft acid framing the creamy palate, very long clean finish 42/44 overall very impressive wine , not that dissimilar to the Hunting Hill but more complex and layered on release and with a wonderful track with previous vintages 11/11
