  Consumed after being open for a few hours in bottle. Bright red cherry, pomegranate, red apple skins, red plum, dried roses and violets, cinnamon and clove with a lifted finish. The body is a bit flat with a hole in the mid-palate at this point. I’ll leave my final bottles for a few years to see if it gets better. Overall the components are there, has the intensity of other Carters but I’m not in love with the blend.

  One hour decant. Nearly opaque intense magenta color. Cinnamon-dusted figgy pudding, violet, and cocoa. Very dry, chalky, and ever so slightly tart palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
  
  My score is just a placeholder. JD notes this a CF/Merlot equal blend. This is very youthful. The fruit is completely in the background right now. This needs a year or two to resolve. It’s very impressive for the money. Mark Carter was kind enough to personally host the tasting for #1WineLover and I.
