  • Opened to celebrate the closing of a photo shoot.
Used Durand to open perfectly: Cork was in great condition with some musty mold on the nose, but the bottle was not corked.
About 4oz was left in bottle with sediment.

Oh wow, just a beautiful wine.

Gorgeous color sparked in my glass, totally translucent light ruby garnet with orange edges.
Initially it was a touch metallic but that blew off very fast.
Cherry, honey, crisp spice came through on the nose.
Great energy with millions of stars bursting all over my palate. It was delicate but powerful, etheric but energetic, settled volcanism.

An angel fluttered, pulled up on the volcanic magma creature to smolder as the petals evaporated on the molten heat to leave a very enjoyable, lasting experience in my mouth.

Looking at this amazing ruby/garnet/tourmaline gem color in the glass, I’m blown away by the energetic spices and freshness of this, who’s finish lasted, counting up to 120 seconds: Cherry, orange zest, smoke, spices, pungent cherry and wild berry to dry up into hot-hilly-herbs where I could feel the heat rise up into my nose from my palate.

As the wine’s essence built in my mouth it coated gorgeous tannins of bitter herbs with more and more smoke. Excellent Nebbiolo.

  • Well, we are sitting on 57 years here and I sincerely have to report that this bottle was perfectly stored. Brought a bottle to Vina Enoteca to drink with amazing Italian. Forgot to bring my Durand, so using their aso the last bit of the cork broke off.
Gorgeous color of transluscent ruby with hardly ANY signs of age. There is some orange color, but blind would never have guessed 57 years.
Amazing energy in this wine. Nose of tart flowers and a sort of butter of spices that’s grounded in a what I would call sacred earth. It’s golden, blessed and sparkly.
The palate is incredible. It’s assuredly Queen. It’s feminine. It has delicate aromas of soft flowers flavors of soft floral extract. It’s midpalate is energetic and bursting with stars of flavor that sparkle off into a fantastic finish. Just an amazing wine. I’m blown away by such delicate power.
Dregs were just yum, a touch funky which was great, but perfect overall

  • Has some tertiary nuttiness about it, but this is essentially a majestic, aged wine that is drinking at the top of its game. There are strawberry and cherry fruits surrounded by black earth. It has some pine needle notes, some floral spice and a suggestion of menthol. Tannins are resolved yet supportive and it has real sneaky persistence. A complete wine.

  • The first alive bottle after two flawed. Brownish red, initially cellar and funk on the nose, turning more floral with air. Aciddriven and fragile in the mouth, fleshing out nicely with air over 1 h. along with it tannins appeared and also a slight metallic taste. All in all a nice wine.
