Im Gaumen druckvoll, würzig, merklich Gerbstoff, knackige Säure, sehr lebendig, mit einem fast schon weihnächtlichen Touch, der an Zimt und Nelken eines Gewürzkuchens erinnert.

  Be suspicious of wines that taste the same every vintage! (If you don't believe me, consult the writings of Frank Musselman Schoonmaker.) Quality is another matter. 2021 Grillo Integer can be easily distinguished from the 2018 and 2017. It is lighter and more exact, and not quite as drenched with sticky flavor. I love it. Was the climate in Samperi cooler in 2021? Was the harvest earlier? This bottle was open 24 hours ago and kept resealed, half full, on the drinking studio table.
  EYE: hazy gold. NOSE: lemon packed with figs; sliced almonds; stiff, grassy brine. Parabolic acts of levitation, trailing plumes of exhaust that render suggestions of dried strawberries, yerba buena, and sandalwood. MOUTH: ripe, fluid texture plied with weightless sheets of aspirated, shooshing tannins; ripe, rose yellow acidity; kilned stone; old asphalt broken by aromatic roots. A curious lash of chocolate seeks attention on the finish.
  This might be the mathematically perfect vintage of this wine. It leverages the maximum of various contradicting flavor sources, from soil, to vine, to elevage. 97-100.
